Newtownsandes Co-op and North Cork Co-op have very kindly offered a dedicated section of their yard in Moyvane as a collection area for the scrap. Drop off times for scrap metal are 9.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday and 9.00am to 12 noon on Saturday. We are currently half way through our community led planning initiative, which will provide a well-coordinated development plan for Moyvane and Knockanure. Financial resources will be needed to see this through and it is hoped
this scrap metal collection will be a good starting point on our journey together, while also giving people the opportunity for a positive clear out. We are asking people to have a look around in their houses, back gardens & farm yards to pull out and bring any unwanted scrap metal to the drop off point in Newtownsandes Co-op from December 10  to December 17 at stated times. Anything metal is welcome but fridges, freezers, timber, plastic or tyres cannot be accepted. Batteries are also accepted but must be stored in dedicated battery storage bins at the collection point Contact Martin at  087 6761353 or Kieran at  087 4115116 if you have any queries as to what you can or cannot bring.

CHARITY TRACTOR RUN Congratulations to everyone who took part in the Estuary Rollers tractor run on Sunday. It started at Listowel Livestock Mart where they gathered to decorate the tractors with Christmas lights and many snowmen and Santa Claus figures. It began after dark and upwards of 150 tractors travelled through Listowel, on to Moyvane, Tarbert, Glin and finished in Knockdown. It really was an amazing spectacle and was well supported along the route. The group have a gofundme page for donations to their chosen charities, Milford Care Centre and Friend’s of St. Ita’s Community Hospital, Newcastlewest, both very worthy charities. If you would like to donate visit the gofundme site and type in Estuary Rollers Tractor Run.
