BINGO is back as usual this Thursday night. Apologies for having to cancel last week’s bingo but it would not have been safe to travel. As this is our last Bingo before Christmas we look forward to seeing you all again. It has been a roller coaster since the virus brought everything to a stand still. Our last Bingo was on Thursday, March 05 2020 and we finally got back to Bingo again on Thursday, January 27 2022. It was a long haul. THE GLIN ROAD just lost it’s oldest citizen. Bridie Shine suddenly left this world and joined her late husband, Jack and brother, Connie on Saturday, December 03. Her passing was a shock to all who knew her and especially to her family. Bridie was born on December 23 1939, and something that probably most of us never knew, her mother passed away five days later. Her arrival in Moyvane was in her mother’s funeral cortege! Can you imagine, she had to leave this world to meet her mother! She was one lovely lady, kind, caring and always had a permanent smile, she knew everyone and was well respected. Herself and Jack were the perfect couple and ran a shop (a great shop for ice cream) until their retirement. Sleep easy, Bridie, with the mother that you never knew. Sincere sympathy to Don, Norma, Mairead, Elaine, daughter in law, Karen, sons in law, Johnny & Joe, her grandchildren, Ellen, Shane, Laura, Amy, David, Ruth, Emma & Jack.
FR. KEVIN Who would believe that it is a year since Fr. Kevin passed away. He will be remembered over Christmas as a kind, caring get up and go person. In Fr. Kevin’s world nothing was impossible and indeed this world needs more people like him. Hope he is reaping the rewards. Anniversary Mass for Fr. Kevin will be held in Knockanure Church on Wednesday, December 21 at 10.00am.
