MOYVANE IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS
Despite the enormous amount of digging and drilling that is going on in the parish the village is still operating. There may be pockets of disruption but at this point, with communication and cooperation everybody is singing off the same hymnsheet. Please support your local businesses.

THIS WEEK’S ROAD UPDATE FROM MURPHYS

  • L1021 (Moyvane to Anamoy Bridge). Road closure from Monday, October 16th to Friday, October 20th. Road open in evenings and at weekends. Local access facilitated & diversion in place.
  • L1015 (Glin road out of Moyvane) Road closure until Friday, October 20th. Local access facilitated and diversion in place. Road will be open in evening and at  weekend.
  • L1020 (Ahavoher Graveyard to N69 junction at Skehanierin. Coilagurteen Road). Road closure until December 15th. Road open at night and at weekends. Local access facilitated & diversion in place.

MOYVANE VILLAGE FESTIVAL 2017
The 25th Village Festival is now fast approaching…since the first festival in October 1993 there has been many changes to the programme of events. This year sees the first Tractor run for kids on Sunday, October 29th…this is open to both boys and girls once they bring along their own tractors!! Takes place in the School grounds at 1.15pm. Another first is the Family Fun day in the sports field at 1.30pm with lots of activities for all the family including a family relay race so that nobody feels left out! Make sure everyone comes dressed to take part! While on Sundaynight the first Barn Dance takes place in the Community Centre. While Fancy Dress is optional, there will be some spot prizes on the night for the best turned out and the best dancers!!  To get ready for the night why not join Norella in Knockanure Community Centre on Wednesday nights at 8.15pm to brush up on your Line Dancing Steps!! Don’t forget the fourteenth Annual Boro Buffet is taking place in what is going to be a beautifully decorated Community Centre. Date: Saturday night October 28th. Doors open 7.30pm. MOYVANE/KNOCKANURE COMMUNITY GAMES
A meeting will be held in the Marian Hall on Monday, October 23rd at 8pm. All members are asked to attend.
All positions are filled for the committee for this year following their AGM. However, volunteers are still needed to help with the many and varied activities. Contact Brigitte 085/1018226 for info. Your help and support would be appreciated.

MOYVANE GAA
LOTTO: There was no winner of this weeks lotto jackpot of €4200 which took place in Speedy’s Bar. Lucky dip winners of €40 each were Olive Keane, Ashgrove; Maura Trant c/o Mike Brosnan; Micheal O’Connor, Lower Aughrim; Bill Horan, Moyvane North; Trisha & Timothy Noonan, 40 Woodgrove. Next weeks draw will take place in Enrights Bar, jackpot €4400.
INTERMEDIATE NORTH KERRY CUP SEMI-FINAL: Moyvane B 5-11 Emmets B 0-7. Moyvane B now progress to the Final against Ballydonoghue. Time and date TBC! Mighty stuff lads!! Well done!!
MINOR NKC: Moyvane 0-10 St Senans 4-9. Hard Luck lads! Ye played with great heart on the day!
NORTH KERRY CHAMPIONSHIP 1ST ROUND: Moyvane V Duagh on Sunday 22nd October at 12.30pm in Con Brosnan Park, Moyvane. Best of luck lads!

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
Parents Association Murhur N.S. collection raised €721.95 while the Irish Heart Foundation collection raised €645. Very many thanks for your generous support and the collectors who volunteered for these Church Gate Collections.

NEVIN MAGUIRE
Nevin Maguire, celebrity chef, will give a cookery demonstration in Ceol Corbrai Community Hall, Glin on Wednesday, November 8th at 8pm. Doors will open at 6.30pm with Artisan Food Fair. Complimentary Wine & Cheese Reception. This is a fund raiser for St. Fergus National School, Glin.

MOYVANE CHURCH
MOYVANE CHURCH CLOSED AS PAINTING BEGINS From Monday, October 9th until Friday, November 17th. BOOKED WEEKDAY MASSES Monday to Friday have been rescheduled to KNOCKANURE CHURCH. (Mass intentions will appear weekly in the Parish Newsletter. SATURDAY VIGIL & SUNDAY MASS will take place in the MARIAN HALL at the usual times of 7.30pm and 11.00am except for the Festival Weekend.

SPECIAL ARRANGEMENT FOR FESTIVAL WEEKEND IN MOYVANE (Bank Holiday Weekend) All three Parish Masses will take place in KNOCKANURE CHURCH. The times are as follows:

  • Saturday, October 28th Vigil Mass at 6pm and also a Mass at 7.30pm.
  • Sunday, October 29th Mass at 11am  Please note ONE Sunday Mass only and don’t forget CLOCKS GO BACK.

FUNERALS during this period In the event of a Funeral Mass, the families in question will have the following choices:  Knockanure Church. One of the surrounding Parish Churches which may have a link with the family or The Community Centre.
