PARISH MEETING, TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 22
Fr. Kevin is looking forward to seeing you all at this meeting which will take place in the Marian Hall on Tuesday, September 22 at 8.00pm. In particular he would like to have a representive from all organisations and groups who contribute to the life of our Parish. All welcome. The meeting will start at 8,00pm.

PART TIME PARISH SECRETARY
It is good to see a Parish Secretary appointed so now if you need any information or Mass bookings etc you have an opportunity to do so without any hassle. You can call to Jackie Stackpoole at the front office in the Presbytery on the following days, Mondays from 10.00am to 12 noon, Tuesdays from 10.00am to 1.00pm. The office is closed on Wednesdays. Thursdays 10.00am to 12 noon and Fridays 10.00am to 1.00pm.

MOYVANE GAA

SENIOR COUNTY LEAGUE: Moyvane had a good win at home to Seem/Derrynane in the Division 5 Senior County League on Saturday Last on a final score of Moyvane 2-17, Seem/Derrynane 2-9.  This leaves Moyvane in a good position to be promoted with 2 games left in the competition.

SENIOR NORTH KERRY LEAGUE FINAL: Moyvane will face Asdee in the Division 2 North Kerry League Final in Ballylongford on Saturday, September 12th at 6.30pm.  The winners of this game will play in Division 1 next year.

NORTH KERRY CHAMPIONSHIPS: The Draws for the North Kerry Championships were made on Friday last. Moyvanes opponents will be Brosna in the Senior North Kerry Championship, Ballyduff B in the North Kerry Intermediate Cup and Bally/Asdee in the U21 North Kerry Championship. The draw for the Minior Championship will take place at a later date.  The very best of luck to all of the teams and management in this years Championships.

RACE NIGHT:  Moyvane GAAs Annual Video Race Night will be held in Brosnans Bar on Thursday, September 17th at 9.30pm.  As always a great nights entertainment is guaranteed. We are once again holding a Best Dressed Lady Competition with a prize awarded on the night.  So come along and support your local GAA Club with a night of Fun and Festivities.

LOTTO: There was no winner of this weeks Jackpot if €3,600.  Numbers drawn were 1, 3, 18 and 30.  Lucky a dips of €40.00 each: Darragh Behan c/o Mike Brosnan, Noreen & John Lynch c/o G Mullun, Kitty Culhane, Leitrim Middle, Tom Martin O Connor c/o P Scanlon and Aoife, Chloe,Shauna,Lilyann and Michael c/o M Lynch Taxi.  Next weeks Jackpot is €3,800 and the draw will be held in Speedys Bar on Sunday, September 13th at 10.00pm.

LADIES FOOTBALL
Congratulations to Moyvane u16 girls on winning the Division 3 County Final against Finuge /St Senans in Coolard on Thursday, September 02. This was a close encounter with Finuge/Senans leading by 6 points during the first half but the Moyvane girls had the deficit down to 3 points at half time. Moyvane kept the pressure up in the second half and the scores came with Moyvane winning on a scoreline of 4-10 to 1-11.This team won Division 4 two years ago and now, up a division, this is a huge achievement. Well done to each of the girls for their commitment and also to their trainers, Maura Moore Walsh and Teresa Stack Mulvihill. The team was Aine Enright, Ciara Hudson, Marie Kennelly, Laura Stack, Maedbh McEvoy, Aimee Lindsell, Margaret Mulvihill, Moira O’Flaherty,0-1, Rachel Moriarty, Grainne Stack Mulvihill, Muirne Wall (captain) 2-5(f) Ciara Haugh 2-4(pen), Lisa Stackpoole, Siun Walsh, Eimear Walsh, Aoife O’Brien, Kate Stack, Kayla, Muireann Kennelly. The u14’s lost to Kerins O’Rahilly’s by 2 points in the North Kerry League in a very exiting game.

 

SET DANCING
Please note set-dancing classes will commence in the following North Kerry venues the week after the Listowel races, as follows: Monday, September 21 in The Marian Hall, Moyvane. Tuesday, September 22 in Clounmacon Community Centre and Thursday, September 24 in Kilcooley’s, Ballybunion.All classes commence at 8.00pm and beginners receive special attention if required!

DEATH
The death took place on Friday, September 04 of Mary O’Connor, nee Kennelly of Keylod, Moyvane. She is survived by her husband, Pat, son Jamie and partner Lisa, daughter Therese and husband Jeff, grandchildren Robbie and Riley, brothers Paddy, Mike, and Billy, sister Margie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and extended family. Removal took place to the Church of Corpus Christi, Knockanure with funeral Mass on Monday, September 07 with burial in Ahavoher Cemetery. Charles Gullin of Leitrim West and late of Tarbert and Killocrim, Listowel passed away recently at Kerry General Hospital. He is survived by his wife Annette nee Beasley and family Tony, Neil, Wendy and Ricky. Funeral Mass took place in St. Mary’s Church, Listowel with burial afterwards in St. John Paul ll Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to both families.
